It was a beautiful day in DFW today! Dallas-Fort Worth recorded a high of 79 today thanks to light southwesterly winds and sunny skies. Fortunately, this pattern will continue throughout the weekend! FORECAST: Tonight will be another cool, quiet night as light easterly winds and clear skies allow temperatures to fall into the low 50s to upper 40s across the region. If you have any evening plans, we give you the go ahead! You may want to bring a light fleece jacket with you just in case. Another beautiful weekend is in store for us this weekend, with a quick warmup into the mid 80s for most of us on Saturday as sunshine and southwesterly winds flow off of the higher terrain. Unfortunately, with a dry airmass in place and increased winds, the fire threat will also increase mainly for our southwestern counties as winds will be slightly gustier. Because of this, a Fire Weather Watch is in place for those areas.   An Ozone Action Day (more commonly known as an Air Quality Alert) has also been issued for the entire metroplex tomorrow. High atmospheric pressure promotes sinking air, therefore human-produced aerosols remain at the surface, so we recommend staying indoors if you have respiratory issues. Saturday night, we’ll cool off into the mid 50’s for DFW, while surrounding areas stay in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Sunday will feature breezy southwesterly winds and sunny skies as high pressure continues to dominate the region. Fire Weather conditions will remain, but mainly areas west of I-35. Here’s the kicker…high temperatures could get up to 90 degrees! Those are anomalously high temperatures for this time of year, about 18 degrees above the normal 72°.  After the weekend, high temperatures won’t cool down much. Temperatures in the 80’s, mild nights in the upper 50s to low 60s, then a chance of rain returns Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has issued portions of DFW (Including parts of Denton county) in a 15% slight risk for severe storms again for their Day 5 outlook. Too far out to give any specifics, but the potential for a severe weather outbreak or tornado outbreak does exist.
