Snow Sunday? Something Just Isn't Adding Up

The European Model is showing some shocking images for Sunday: Flurries and measurable snowfall, mainly for Western DFW. This is unusual for December. But there is a problem... Nothing is adding up to this.

We made a mini prediction Tuesday Night about the potential for some flurries well West of DFW, but the European Model & Canadian Models have decided to go even crazier and push all of that potential flurries and potentially light snow into DFW. Here's the major problem though: the temperatures that both models are predicting for this timeframe do not equivalate anywhere close to being able to land snow on the surface of the ground.

DCW did some research on both models. Here were are results:

The Canadian Model has shown the lowest temperature Sunday morning for any of DFW at around 34-36. This would be possible to see snow if that was absolute ground temperature. However, when you go farther up into the atmosphere, the temperature is still in the mid to upper 30s, well up past 5000 feet. This would be impossible to have pure snow in.

The European Model has shown the lowest temperatures Sunday morning at 38-40 degrees. Once again, This could be possible to see snow, only if temperatures a few feet above the ground were in the low 30s. This isn't the case though, the long-term projection 4-5 days out still shows temperatures up to 5000 feet around 40 degrees.

Therefore, none of this is adding up. To say the least, we are left with the lowest of chances. Unfortunately, the European Computer Model has not been up to par when it comes to snow predictions at all this Winter. It was accurate last Winter a few times, but that is definitely not what it is this Winter.
