SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK POSSIBLE FOR NORTH TEXAS THIS EVENING - Here's the latest information5/15/2020 SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK: 90% of North Texas will experience storms tonight, which around 30% of those will be severe. ALSO: 95% of TEXAS has a Severe Risk Potential. All threats are in play for North Texas this evening.
Storms are expected to fire up North and West of DFW, and push into DFW later this evening, between 7PM and 4AM. Damaging winds will be the main threat across the metroplex, however, large hail (especially in the Orange Shaded area) and a couple of tornadoes cannot be ruled out. The red-dashed area represents where a tornado threat is present (Low-mod risk). My prediction is that we will see two tornadoes in that area this evening. They should be fairly brief and weak. We will livestream tonight whenever the storms are getting closer to the metroplex. We will continue to post updates on new information when we get it. Stay updated on our Instagram and Facebook Page, Denton County Weather, for more updates. Timeline: West of DFW - 6PM to 11PM Western DFW - 8PM to 12AM Central DFW (includes Denton County) - 9PM to 1AM Southern/Eastern DFW - 11PM to 4AM |
