The National Weather Service confirmed that the Salado, TX, tornado was a very strong EF-3 tornado. The tornado had maximum sustained winds of 165 MPH. If it had wind speeds any higher than 165, it would have been considered an EF-4 tornado. The tornado caused catastrophic damage to those who live West of Salado. The tornado was on the ground for 32 minutes from 5:34 to 6:06pm. The tornado began near the Bell/Williamson County line and ended at the Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
